Adyen Merchant Account Setup

In this article, learn how to apply for an Adyen merchant account via your Upper Hand account

After signing up for Upper Hand and creating your account, you will want to complete your merchant application with Adyen to ensure you can start accepting credit card payments as soon as you're ready. 

To submit your Adyen Merchant application:

  • Select the red banner to populate step 1 of the merchant application
  • In the drawer fill out the below information
    • Legal Entity: this is your business's legal name associated with your EIN that you put on your tax returns 
    • Industry Code: select between the below options
      • Sports and Recreation Instruction
      • Fitness and Recreational Centers
    • Location Name: your DBA (doing business as) 
    • Phone Number
    • Shopper Statement:  this will be what appears on your client's credit card statement when they make a purchase 
    • Address: your business address 
  • Select Review My Business Details
  • If all of the information entered is correct select Save and Continue, if you need to edit some details select Return to Edit Business Information
  • Select Finish Onboarding & Verification
    • Note: this will take you to an external URL where you will be prompted to enter the rest of your business information to create your merchant account 

 

The Adyen URL will always be accessible via your Upper Hand account until you've completed the application and have been approved to process payments. 

Important to Note: the URL will time out after being idle for 5 minutes 

Step 1: Select Business Type 

  • Sole Proprietorship
  • Company
  • Partnership or association 

 

Step 2: Set Up Account 

  • Business Details
    • Business Legal Name
    • State business is registered 
    • EIN
    • Company Structure 
      • Private Company
      • Public Company 
      • Non-profit or charity
      • Governmental Organization 
      • Legal Entity Identifier (if applicable)
  • Decision-makers
    • Note: you need the below information for anyone who owns more than 25% of the business
    • Drivers license 
    • DOB
    • Last 4 of SSN
  • Customer Support
    • Email address and phone number you want to be contacted at 
  • Bank account Details 
    • Account and routing number you want funds to be deposited into
