Tiered memberships allow you to set up individual tiers of the same membership so clients can enjoy a seamless selection process based on their preferences. If you currently have your membership offerings set up as entirely separate memberships, this article outlines some best practices to moving your clients from an individual membership to a tiered membership.

Option 1: Cancelling and Re-Enrolling

One way to do this would be to set up your new tiered membership offerings, then cancel your existing members from their current membership and re-enroll them into the new tiered membership within the appropriate tier.

We recommend if going this route, that you cancel at end of commitment and then manually re-enroll them on their next charge date to minimize disruption for the client.

Once you've moved all your members over to the new tiered membership, you can then delete your old membership.

Option 2: Sunsetting and Enroll New Members

Another solution to rolling out your new tiered memberships would be to "sunset" your current memberships. You can do this by enabling the Hide in Client Checkout and Hide in Point of Sale settings inside the Membership build page. This would keep all your current members in their same membership until they decide to cancel or not renew.

For any new members, you would have them sign up for the new tiered membership options.

Over time, once you no longer have any active members in the old membership, you will be able to delete the membership for good.
